This scrapblog was created for a year-long challenge, which was initiated by justanothergirl! In her own words:"Okay, so I got this idea last night. I was laying awake, thinking about how much I have changed in the past year.I thought it would be really interesting to take note of what's happening in my life, as it happens. But journaling is SO last year... :PSo I thought today I would embark on a grand adventure. And I thought I'd challenge others to do the same.My goal is to take 5 photos every day of the rest of the year. They don't have to be spectacular. Just something that captures it. Then put them into a page... you could use one photo, you could use all five. But make each page remind you what your day was all about.The next day, come back and post another page. In other words... just scrap your day to day life. Every day... for one year. It shouldn't take more than 10 minutes a day, but I promise you, the end result will be really unique."I love this idea so much, so I've decided to join in by taking at least 5 photos each and every day... that's not hard for me, because I can easily take 20 or more per day! The hard part for me will be deciding on just one! :)So I challenge all who visit this scrapblog to do the same! Embellishments are not necessary. As you can see I just can't seem to help myself, but I do plan on keeping them to a minimum, so that the photos can TRY to speak for themseleves! LOL!!!!
Since I only just started today, which is February 13, I have a little catching up to do! I'll be adding photos from previous days soon, but there will be a few holes here and there...Hope you enjoy!little_m

Well I see you have taken on justanothergirl's challenge, I saw it in the forum and thought it would be fun.I have a camera but I currently dont have a camera to computer connector cord or a card reader for my memory card so I cant do this challenge quite yet, but I will try and get one soon so I can participate.This looks cool so far!MissMod

I am enjoying your scrapblog! Thank you for taking up the challenge!I noted on the forum that journaling is totally okay, if you want it... it's not required. My thought was that it would be generally no more than half a page, but perhaps something interesting.I look forward to seeing this develop!

Well done for taking this on! I saw it described in the 'Forum'. I won't be attempting it (or if I did that would be ALL I would be doing!) Do you reckon you will be able to keep it up for the whole year? Knowing you -the answer is YES! I'll aim to post a monthly scrapblog (at least) instead!

This is such a neat idea, Karen, and I look forward to coming by everyday to see new pages! I'm wondering about the challenging part of adding pages as it gets longer and longer later in the year (getting the builder to open and flipping to the end to add new pages)! You started something else again with this one! Well done for the work. Adding more and more pages might make SBlog slow, so you and others might have to break it down in several volumes or seasons.I'd like to have a go, but my SBlog is too slow most of the time so I'll just have to look at your production. Will you try to keep this one on top of your SBlog lists?
Just checking in to see how this is going! I agree with nbarnich about the 'slowing' down of the computer. When I've made a longish scrapblog (e.g. my Scottish Highlands one) I HAVE had some trouble with the pages not wanting to turn and the 'Ken Burns' Effect' caused no end of problems when I had several pages! nbarnich's suggestion of several volumes or seasons is a good one.
Hey all! I'm thinking about breaking this down into bi-monthly volumes, so this one will feature photos for January and February! I'll then link them all together via the last pages. :)m

Thanks, Karen. And trust me, I will be doing some major Scrapblogging XD I've done quite a bit today, too. Mostly adding things to old ones. I wrote some depressing poetry in my "Poetry Project" and am about to start pics taken yesterday for my "365" Sblog. I would LOVE to go shopping, but there aren't many places in the little town my grandma lives in haha.

Hello my dear friend Karen!Sorry I have been so lax/slack in looking at your masterpieces.I took up this challenge on 1st January and have been taking a photo every day and writing about them in a journal. Hopefully when the time is right I will make a monthly scrapblog of the photos....don't hold your breathe, as it won't be for quite a while.....but it is on the list of things to achieve in 2009.That red and black plant have you found out it's name yet?I appreciate your concern about the horrific bush fires in Victoria. Australia has had wonderful support from all over the world.Regarding the Koalas, they are normally very, very shy animals and would never normally approach people, but desperate times change even animals habits.Take care always.HugsPeggy

The 1st link leaded to my other 20 random sb, because that was a 20 random sb, I thought that it would be a good idea to put my other 20 random sb in his so other people that dont know I have 2 random sb's can look at both just by looking at one sb! You have really done a lot. I always forget to take pictures even though I have my camera with me every day. I will have to step it up as my SBs are lacking because of my lack of photos to use.This is super duper and I will come back to give a more detailed comment another time. Keep it up.

I wonder...but anyway, like all your Sbs, I look at it in full screen...and what a delight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!you talk about me (which I left you an answer in my last!) but you my darling, are the inspiration behind all those SBs of mine, even the tutor...if it wasn't you showing me the way in so many things.....I couldn't do what I do! (I have to give bubblee a credit too, as she does the type I love the most and I have been looking at her closely too)this is amazing....even though most of these we had seen already, I see that you have made some changes...I personally love the journaling...and, it may be last year thing for justanothergirl, but, judging by My Vox blog and the Blogspot , the amount of people journaling does not indicate that....more than that: journaling helped me look at things with a different perspective, so I combine the twoand I actually don't need to take up the challenge:only thing you guys have to do is go through mine, it s all there....almost day by day!!!(and I actually think it's too much for you guys to come visit all!!!)lolno, seriously, you know I never participate in the challenges in general, and my Scrapblog tells our lives, so.....One question... is that abandoned house property of the government?maybe I could go and do it up, spend a summer there!!! Scratch what I said earlier about limiting my embellishments and journaling and letting the photos speak for themselves!!!! I recently reworked my pages and loaded them up with stickers, and such... sorry, I really couldn't help myself! LOL!

On reading the text, I see that it was in the 'Welcome Centre'!Are you tempted by any of the properties?
I enjoyed reading about your househunting.....the trick is to put in an offer much lower than the asking price to allow for the expected future drop!We probably went in too soon on two properties but, hopefully, at a low enough price!Not to say we haven't encountered a few problems!

Four cooters joined the bread-feeding party today! I snapped up oodles of photos, so it was really hard choosing just one! Since we just finished celebrating Valentine's Day a couple of days ago, I decided to go with the "turtle love" photo! Turtle love in the afternoon... doesn't get much better than this, right? LOL!!! :) m
Love this! I don't have the variety of subjects that you do in sunny Florida, but I can try. I was going to ask if you were going to continue to add to just 1 blog, that would have been a HUGE Scrapblog! Monthly or bi-monthly are good ideas. How would you link them up when finished? I'm still figuring this place out. I can't promise 5 pics a day, but at least 1 I can do. Great Idea.

Wow, I was excited to see TWO turtles so close together in your photo, but you actually had 4 there!! How amazing! You must have been in turtle "Heaven"! Glad you like my newest pages in the Jack of Hearts scrapblog. Did you notice I did some saturation enhancements on my photos? Jack's eyes look a deeper blue and his shirt a brighter red with that! I also enjoyed cropping with more blurred edges on the page that has the windchime (instead of using the eraser).Jack's first birthday party is at Megan and Dave's this Saturday (& you guys are welcome-- if you want details let me know!). Wondering where my chocolate loving fork is??? LOLThat was a great shot of the locust/grasshopper. You must pay close attention to your surroundings. My mind is always running to fast to notice much these days.
I thought the big ugly bug looked like a grasshopper more so than a locust, but I'm not familiar with the flora and fauna in your neck of the woods. The locusts here are black and the grasshoppers are green...? I tried taking a pic of something interesting today but there wasn't anything but dismal and wet here...This challenge is fun =)

Ahh! Haha JUST when I decide to get caught up on the actual DAY I should have scrapped 2-18-09, I can't find my camera. Where is it? In the school's computer lab. :'( I CRIED about it, how pathetic? Haha. My bets friend knows how I feel, she dropped her cell in the toilet last week, she felt like she lost a part of her. Ugh! Me too! XD My camera is ALWAYS with me. Love the new page 29 with the promises journaling and the photographs. Love the bright pinks of the flowers!!! I left notes on 2 other scrapblogs of yours......I thought of you as I snapped photos of Jack at his birthday party......thinking not only do I want good photos of Jack to remember this day, but also to show you.....And our family remembered a birthday of Kirsten's that we were all there for (when she was about 6?) when she had eaten too much icing off her cake (& got sick!). We were worried that could happen to Jack today!Love,Susie
Guess it can get a little nerve wracking walking around on that abandoned property!! But you push past all that anxiety (and lean on valiant, brave Blaze) to continue on your explorations!!!! You go, Karen and Blaze!!!Good idea about collecting the seeds!!! I just did the same thing yesterday with the cuttings I brought home two weeks ago. They didn't take root and died, but I got 3 of those seeds out of the berry part of the flower. I have them sitting out drying and then thought I'd try planting them in a pot!!!Oh and please don't feel bad about missing Jack's party. It was fun and I missed having you there, but your job is like mine in that you do have to put in your weekends there! And that one recent requested Saturday off was so I could come hang out with you!!! There were about 20 people there, we had barbecue from Woody's, and Jack had a cute Noah's Ark cake made by Publix of course!! We even had a pinata, which was funny, because Jack was the only child there!!! We let Jack "hit" it (well, kind of) and then Aunt Caitlin and Daddy (Dave) got it broken open! Jack got so many presents, that his babysitter (she came, too) and I want to have some of them at our houses, so he'll have more to play with at our houses!Love,Susie

That mystery plant has gotten my interest piqued too...it resembles a Lily I grow called the Blackberry Lily or Candy Lily, but with Bloat =) Is there an unopened bloom you can take a pic of? Is the center of an open bloom full of tiny seeds that burst when the bloom fades? I'd take a pic of mine, but they won't be blooming until June...I'm thoroughly enjoying your 365!

I did some checking and found pics of various stages of the Blackberry Lilly. while the seeds of your mystery plant are similar, I don't think it's a lily. Seems blackberry lilies are indigenous to South Florida, so would appear the same up here, where I am, as there, where you are...I'd love to know what it is when you find out.
Your ducks look great, reminds me of a time when I used to walk across the street to a pond and feed the ducks when my oldest daughter was little... (she turned 31 this weekend!) geesh, where'd the time go?btw, come over to my place and see what I've done to your Mad Scientist! He is the perfect image!~B

Wow, the sand looked more like snow and I had to take a double peek at the page. Has Blaze ever played in snow? Ike tries to eat the flakes as they fall. =) I'll be waiting to hear how the Mystery Plant progresses. Have you tried dipping the stem in a growing medium and placing it in potting soil? I've made cuttings this way when they don't produce roots in water. Good Luck

......my question is 'when would several slices become the equivalent of a whole cake i.e. when 'slice' = x and 'cake' = y how many x=y and how many x before one felt sick?' Seriously......I would HAVE to try several!Also....I loved the mad scientist page (30)...THAT plant again! Page 31 is a bit scary!

All the turtle relatives are coming to your side of the pond because they've heard the eating is GOOD!!I've been trying to make a new scrapblog, but am having problems with the builder being SO slow and not cropping, losing pictures, so I'm giving up tonight! Instructions for adding website links to scrapblogs:1. Copy the complete URL of the website you'd like to link your scrapblog to.2. Now go to the builder (open your scrapblog)… decide what you'll want to link the website to: text, sticker or photo.3. Click on the element you'd like to apply the link to then click on "link", which is under the EDIT tab to the right of the builder screen.4. Click on the website or blog bubble then paste the complete website's complete URL in the box.5. Click on "Done" and you're finished! Your scrapblog should now be linked to the website, via the sticker, text or photo you selected! Thought you could also use the instructions for adding videos??? Instructions for adding videos to scrapblogs:1. First you’ll need to go to the youtube or Photobucket site to find a video. Once you’ve located one you like, copy the complete URL.2. Now go to the builder… click on “video” (located in the lower left-hand corner). 3. Click on “get video”.4. You have two options: you can “get” videos from Photobucket or youtube. Click on the appropriate tab.5. Paste the URL in the box where it says… “paste youtube video URL here”, then click on “grab video”.6. This opens another window where you’ll actually see your video play. If everything looks fine, click on “done”.7. The video should now appear under the Video tray in the builder! To place the video on your page, just click on it and drag it onto your screen. Something to keep in mind… videos always come forward; meaning if you place a sticker, photo or text over the video, it will not appear in the published form. Also, if you’d like to use the sound only… just reduce the size of your video to something miniscule and place it in a dark or black area of your page… that way it will disappear, but you’ll still hear the music/sound!Try it, you’ll like it!
