This is volume 3 of my year-long project. I've decided to go the monthly route and to link them all together via the last pages...

  • goldensundrop Posted 220 days ago

    Great job!

  • Chilypepah Posted 220 days ago

    Yum!
A new month, a new cake!

  • Slveryder Posted 220 days ago

This is incredibly ambitious! I can't even imagine trying this. I would run out of creativity by March! :)
I can't wait for the next one!

  • AriesIsis Posted 220 days ago

    Beautiful pages!

  • nbarnich Posted 220 days ago

A very comprehensive approach to the SBlog principle, but this is what it's all about.
As you have the talent, the skills and the patience, this project will be a milestone as the SBlog application, and a fantastic production for your loved ones. The book looks fabulous and it's so nice that you are pleased with it. RESPECT! (NB)

  • cazjane Posted 220 days ago

Oh good....a new volume....I'll take a look. Have you changed your image again - a very glam golden look?!

  • GREENSHOES Posted 220 days ago

Fabulous Karen, just fabulous...I love the house too, looks like a beautiful home for you and your loved ones, but remember, DON'T harass the Alligators!!!. Great pages all, Love It. Love Gwen x

  • beckylarae Posted 220 days ago

    These are wonderful pages!! :)

  • cazjane Posted 220 days ago

.....yes, it is much easier to view month by month. The printed book of your parents' wedding looks very special. I was interested in the page showing Easter at SusieK's, too.

  • J.Luck Posted 220 days ago

Awesome, your book came out great!
Im glad you made April an separate scrapblog because even though I checked in to see it, I think people like to see the months separate, lol

btw, I like your new profile picture!

    Love, Jessica

  • BigRedssw Posted 220 days ago

Beautiful work!! I can't type today...I think I might have broken the index finger on my left hand! So sore I can't use that hand at all...bummer!
    Sally

  • bappi Posted 220 days ago

Really interesting pages, especially the house hunting ones, alligators in the neighbourhood sounds dangerous ......!!!

  • cazjane Posted 220 days ago

Thanks for explaining 'the family'. I think I had more or less guessed....but no picture of Susie, her husband and Jack,then?....perhaps they were fixing tea or doing the dishes....or eating Easter eggs somewhere in secret?!

  • little_m Posted 220 days ago

Oh, and the book I ordered (A Dream Wedding) will be going to my sister, Sharon, as a Mother's Day gift! Sssshhhhhhhh! Don't tell her... it's a surprise! :)

  • aynzan Posted 220 days ago

I think one must have the patience and the talent to take pictures to do something like this everyday..sadly I don't fit into that category..very beautifully done!!

  • bygrace Posted 220 days ago

Really wonderful! I like a volume a month too...good idea! It's so fun to look at your pages, and enjoy your work...this will be so great for you to have! xoxo gayle

  • naseem30 Posted 220 days ago

Great pages and pictures as usual Karen!
And I actually got a notification for this one, so the problem is sorted. :O)

  • SusieK Posted 220 days ago

Karen, this was such a good idea, to split off April for it's own scrapblog! And it makes it easier for us to find, instead of paging back to find it! I love the page you made of Easter at my house.....good images of all the "kids" and such pretty colors and stickers! I also notice the changes in the page featuring your lovely photo and the decadent dessert cake! You're wearing a lovely shirt with a gorgeous brooch!!! And the cake is the same kind you brought on Easter! It was such a good cake.....you should put my name on a fork for this cake, too! LOL!! (But you don't have to!)
My mother is doing great after her surgery today.....no pain so far and hope it stays that way! Thanks for asking about her!

    Love,
    Susie

  • Roban Posted 220 days ago

    Karen,

This is such a wonderful way to document your year. I commend you for creating such a worthy scrapblog! Each page is beautifully designed.

    Roban

  • Solshyn Posted 220 days ago

Karen I just love this idea and this sb! YOu always do such amazing work and I can't wait to see what you will do next! Love the pics of the gators and I'm so glad your book turned out fabulous. I really want to order one soon, just wanted to get some practice under my belt before I start printing. I'd like to add some more pages to my husbands mushroom sb as mushroom season is coming up soon - MORELS - yum my favorite.
Keep us posted on which house you choose!

  • scraping tech Posted 220 days ago

Great. love the kitchen shots. Im so envious.

  • Solshyn Posted 220 days ago

Karen I have a question and am in need of help. I just published fairies fairies and had a hard time with page 4 in hiding the seam - wanted to use a real pic in the forest to mix in with the fairy pic, but couldn't seem to hide the seperation. Any ideas for me???

  • HAWAIIGIRL Posted 219 days ago

Thank u Karen! LOL! I love sb so much that it mixed in with my dreams!

Im glad u liked my cropping!

  • cazjane Posted 219 days ago

.....oh, it's not on page 14 now....it's page 17 (at this precise moment but probably not tomorrow!) I know how you like to change the page order,little_m! Very daring...once I publish something I tend to leave it well alone!

  • J.Luck Posted 219 days ago

Oh thank you soooo much, Im so glad you enjoyed my April 365.
I have gotten so use to journaling everyday that I even journal without pictures lol.

I think that it is cute to think that the turtles are playing with the ball when no one is looking, love it!

Its also cool that your mom's scrapblog is on SIS TV!!

    Love, Jessica

  • rebo001 Posted 219 days ago

  • MrsPeel Posted 219 days ago

I was so happy because, first of all, I did get a notification of you publishing this, so no more mssing your SBs :)
then I come here and I put it in big screen, and had to view it twice, once because I wanted to look at it with m usic, then because I wanted to stop and read.....
this is marvelous....each and every page is beautiful, love the images and how beautifully you make it all come alive....
    about the photography thing....
yes, sometimes we get lucky, but, as I think I have said before to you, I think one either has the talent or haven't....then you go developing it...but I have seen people with amazing cameras, terribly expesnive technology and still, they didnt get one photo which I would love as much as I love some of yours.....
so, yes, maybe sometimes we do get lucky, the light is right, the subject is great....but you obviously have the talent to start with :)

Thank you so, so much too for coming over and taking your time with mine, it always makes me feel proud of myself when you leave me so kind, beautiful words.....
as a matter of fact, this last SB made me very emotional, so many beautiful words from so many beautiful people....
To me, with you it has been a learning curve....because there are things we do very similarly, but the way you have explained so well the little tricks and techniques..... a lot of what I do today in SB I owe to you..... :) so, thanks 10000 times :)

    I also received 2 books on tuesday.....and I was imnpressed....they are amazing!!!! :)
I ll keep saving for printing more!!!
will make a SB at some point about the books...your wedding one looks amazing (the SB surely is!!!) she ll love the book!!!
anyway, I'm off as I still have a list of people to *visit* ....
lots of love, Thank you from my heart and always, always grateful for your words, your lessons, your being here :)
    Huggzzz

  • ummehunein Posted 219 days ago

  • SusieK Posted 219 days ago

Karen, I just saw my name on the fork!!! Thank you!!! I like those wavy frames around our family photos! Cute page with Blaze in his bunny ears in the corner of the page! And regarding today's page..... you ARE an excellent photographer.....not just lucky!! Pretty photos of the turtles, lily pads, and the flower!

  • SherriSue Posted 219 days ago

little m, how can you move away from those turtles?? I'm getting very attached to them. lol. Forget the allegators...
Just beautiful sb's. THey make me want to find nature things to photograph. You make thing just come to life in your pages.
Congradulations on your layout making the catwalk...
How will you print this year long book out?? Or mabey you wont even print it? but I would think you would??... Not sure how to print mine. Could get expensive?
    Sherri

  • Rhonda Murr Posted 218 days ago

What a neat thing to do...you will have all kinds of memories from this - ones you would probably forget over time, but this will keep everything fresh in your mind - maybe that's what I need since I told you two things wrong in one week!!! ;) Absolutely love it!...and the quote on the last page too.

    smiles & hugs,
    Rhonda

  • J.Luck Posted 218 days ago

How funny that you saw a cooter on the grass and not in the water.

Thank you for the "love" and sweet comment on my Grandma's mothers day card.

    Jessica

I love the photo of the water lily on pg.22 I think that one is perfect, although the others are nice too!
I LOVE the fragrance of water lilies! Can ya fish one out of the water to smell it?
Ahhh well have a supah day!

  • SusieK Posted 217 days ago

Beautiful red bottle brush flowers, Karen! Nice close-up image!
I'm curious, do the turtles eggs look safely buried?? I hope no critters dig up the eggs to eat them!

  • Solshyn Posted 217 days ago

So I ended up doing a quick fix on covering my seams with stickers - it's not perfect but looks better - thanks for your help.

  • ~Care~ Posted 216 days ago

Karen, this is so beautiful. Wow, the work that you must have put into this...it is so pretty. Nice job, you have a lot of beautiful pages...
    You friend, Care.

That is an interesting looking tree you saw yesterday. Bottle brush tree, humm, I have never heard of or seen one of those before!
    Cool find!

    Jessica

  • SusieK Posted 216 days ago

  • J.Luck Posted 215 days ago

Thanks for 'loving' my Anime Matsuri scrapblog!!!

  • J.Luck Posted 215 days ago

Thanks so much my midnight blue friend for the really sweet comment. I like the opacity because it softens the photos to go along better with the cherry blossoms.
Yes the artist who taught the Manga, Misako, is amazing! I learned so much from her and although I wont be drawing Manga cartoons anytime soon, Im glad I went to the class because it was something different and fun to do. I dont know if you remember my first Anime scrapblog, but this is the second convention we went to and it was with the same people from my brothers Karate school. here is the link to my first one where you called the the cropping queen, lol
    http://www.scrapblog.com/viewer/viewer.aspx?sbId=1194634

I glad I could show you something different and thanks again for the continuous love you send my way!

P.S. I love looking at people's pictures and leaving comments and love!

    Love, Miss Mod

  • cazjane Posted 214 days ago

Gosh.....your 'model home' looks a dream and you will be moving in so soon! We call that a 'show house' here in U.K. We bought one of those at the end of last year. Like your house it came complete with all the furniture, blinds, pictures etc. We don't live there ourselves....our son does....almost too good for him!

  • Chilypepah Posted 214 days ago

    Martha,
I love the way you've scrapped your new house here!
I can't wait to see what else you do!
    :)

  • SusieK Posted 214 days ago

Gave a re-love to this scrapblog and also really loving your new house!!! Know you're SO excited!! Perfect timing with Kurten graduating, so commuting to school won't be an issue!!
Thanks for praising my Snip Its scrapblog again........I almost think it is too bold and colorful.........I intentionally did not use the opacity feature and as you saw did only one real cropping on the last page!
I love all the different and new themes and stickers in your scrapblogs........every new page of yours is unique with elements I've never seen! Love the layouts and elements on your newest pages featuring you house!

    Love,
    Susie

P.S. Did I tell you we're taking care of Jack for over a week in May while Megan and Dave go on a far-away trip?!! I'm taking the week off from work, but will probably take Jack to his babysitter a few days, since I'm not as good as juggling everything like Megan is. They'll come pick him up the day we're having Caitlin's graduation party!

  • SusieK Posted 214 days ago

    oops..."your" house!

  • akela Posted 214 days ago

wow this is amazing the new house. you have to keep looking at the nest to take photos of the new baby turtles how long befor thay hatch? the photos of the lilys are great :) thank you for visiting chantells sb.

Congratulations on your new house, it is so beautiful! What a great time it is!!
It was great to hear from you. Lucy

  • cazjane Posted 212 days ago

I love the axolot -it makes a great poster! It will be pictures of packing cases from now on, I suppose?!

  • nbarnich Posted 212 days ago

Thank you for visiting my Earth Day pages and your kind comments, and for liking it.
I have no merit in this; I just adapted the message and passed it on. NB

  • cazjane Posted 212 days ago

Sorry....axolotl. I should know, my husband has told me about them at length but I probably wasn't listening properly!
Thanks for your long message and the love. The perfume of the bluebells is gorgeous, too!

  • J.Luck Posted 212 days ago

that is an interesting looking creature, and her prom dress sneak peek is so beautiful!

    Jess

  • Malk Posted 212 days ago

I was not here a while and see - You have a new house! Congrats!!
I will try to visit your pages more often...
And the book you printed is very nice, I told everybody on Forum: it is better then you can see on your comp.screen...

    Take care,
    Elena

  • akela Posted 211 days ago

the axolotle looks like its smiling for the camera:)

  • SusieK Posted 211 days ago

Enjoyed your newest pages, Karen....I usually come look for them every day....saw Kristen's interesting creature and the peek at the prom dress yesterday (pretty!). And love the exterior view of your new home. It is very stunning!! As always, must be fun to watch Blaze as he explores!

  • SusieK Posted 210 days ago

Karen, I just saw an amazing scrapblog! You will want to see this if you haven't:
    http://www.scrapblog.com/viewer/viewer.aspx?sbid=1347683

  • cazjane Posted 210 days ago

Good morning! I'm just catching up. I'm glad you found a prom dress for Kirsten. Did it take much trailing around the shops? I have 'fond' memories of doing that in the past! Another lovely picture of your new home-to-be and poor Blaze -frightened by a piece of wood (Gizmo is sniggering now!)
Thanks for your recent visit,too.....enjoy the weekend.

  • HAWAIIGIRL Posted 210 days ago

Hey sorry wont b on sb that much because Im sick. Been sick for 3 days and still sick.

    Here is a funny story!

There were 3 guys on a plane. The 1st bit ito a apple and thought it was 2 sweet so he threw it out the window, 2nd guy bit into a lemon thought was to sour, and threw it out the window. 3rd guy bit into a grenade and thought it was 2 crunchy and threw it out the window, then they landed then they saw a boy crying. The boy said an apple hit my dog! Then they saw a girl crying and she said a lemon hit my cat! Then the saw a lady laughing! She said when I burped the bulding expolded! LOl!

  • HAWAIIGIRL Posted 210 days ago

    LOVE THE NEW PICS!

  • Wordpainter Posted 209 days ago

Love the new, interesting pages! The axolotl is so strange but cute, also congrats on getting a new house! :)

  • naseem30 Posted 209 days ago

I love the new pics Karen! Can't wait to see all of Kirstens prom dress! :O)

  • cazjane Posted 209 days ago

Thanks for dropping by for a chat....sorry I didn't get back sooner ...I've been stripping wallpaper all day!
So -the pink dress on the 'prom dress' page is just a red herring?!The blue detail is what we should be focusing on. It seems to have a sparkly buckle? I'm sure it will look lovely.
I hope Kirsten's poster went to plan. Her project must be nearing completion now.

  • SusieK Posted 208 days ago

Aaaw, that's sweet Karen, liking the look of Kyle's shoes lying there as if he had just kicked them off. At first glance, I thought maybe you were going to comment on them as you packed up his room for the move, again reminiscing about his last visit and missing him.

I'm having a nice day off with Jack today and he's napping right now!

  • cazjane Posted 207 days ago

Those shoes by the front door make a GREAT shot! A little bit poignant....also typical of the young male -my 25 year old still leaves his trainers scattered when he calls in! It just goes to show that a photo of a simple object can work so well!
Thanks for all your news ....you're ultra-busy. I expect you will be 'garage-saled out' by the end!
I must go....back to the renovation project today and the time is running out before our 27 year old moves in!

  • Chilypepah Posted 207 days ago

I have to agree with Cazjane and I couldn't have written it better, so I won't try.
Thanks for the love on my Goth Girl sb, Jen has such a flair for the unique!

  • SusieK Posted 207 days ago

Karen, thanks for letting me know about the page insert, as I don't always look back too many pages to look for new ones! That restaurant was cool with the bright colors and the unfinished look to the ceiling! Very nice how you designed the page!
I'm off to the dentist! Yuck!

  • bygrace Posted 207 days ago

Hi Karen,Just catching up on your SB! Love all the turtle pages..you are getting so good at turtle photography! Your house looks even more beautiful in SB form! Very cool restaurant pictures..only you could make a fun Sb page out of ceiling shots!! Thanks for stopping by Amanda's prom SB..we had fun shooting those pictures! Her dad is good,huh..helps to have a cute, carefree couple to model for you! The pictures are so clear and bright in person,so I was sad when they didn't transfer that way...but no one else seems to mind..so I'll get over it! :) Thanks for leaving such sweet comments..it means alot coming from you...xoxox Gayle

  • J.Luck Posted 207 days ago

That is a really cool looking restaurant, I love the colors and the unfinished look of the ceiling too. :)
I like that thought of just a pair of shoes comforting you, how sweet.
Kirsten's project came out nice and pretty, you guys did great! :)

    Love, Jess

  • HAWAIIGIRL Posted 207 days ago

    LOVE THE NEW PAGES!

  • Chilypepah Posted 207 days ago

    Hey girlfriend!
I love your newest pages! That unfinished ceiling is cool! I don't know what to make of the axolot, it's really cute though.
I can't wait to see your prom pics after the 2nd. Take care!
    {{{{Hugs}}}}

  • HAWAIIGIRL Posted 207 days ago

Thank u karen! I really imporved by the months! I learned a lot by just looking at your sb's! Thanks karen!

    Love Sophia:)

  • bygrace Posted 207 days ago

Thank you for stopping by Amanda's SB! You say the sweetest things!! :) Daddy did a good job taking the pictures..and they were a moving target sometimes!! It was fun! Ever since she was little Amanda has loved a dress she could twirl in! :) I wish the pictures would have transferred better..they look so clear and bright in person. Maybe it's the high key or all white backgroud..oh well...you get the idea!! Thank you again for you lovely comments! xoxo gayle

  • Wordpainter Posted 206 days ago

The completed project looks great! :)

  • SusieK Posted 206 days ago

Karen, my compliments to you and Kirsten for making such a great poster on the Axoloti!! You've found some very creative ways to maximize all the different possibilities on Scrapblog!! I would love to see the poster in person (which I'll ask about the next time I'm at your house.....maybe your NEW house?!) Cool idea, adding the report in a book form onto the poster!!
I was wondering if you knew the answer to my question I posted on the Forum or maybe Jessica will know.....it's the post from me: "Searching For Stickers". Thanks!!

    Having fun packing?!

    Love,
    Susie

  • bygrace Posted 205 days ago

Wow! The Axoloti poster is a masterpiece! Cool idea to make a book also! How are you doing? You must be burning the candles on both end trying to get everything done. Moves are hard..but exciting! Especially when you get to move into a beautiful furnished new home! Wish I could come to your garage sales! I emailed Meg,and she said the pictures would print much clearer in a book..so I decided to print Amanda's Prom SB. I added a few more pages,in case you want to check them out. Not bragging...just sharing! :) Hope your daughters' prom goes well this weekend!
    xoxoxo Gayle

  • cazjane Posted 205 days ago

Hello there! Just catching up on your last few pages. The axolotl poster is REALLY effective with the clever faux book idea......you are a good mother to help your daughter!Pretty magnolia shots, too -ours are just 'going over'. I haven't been able to spend much time on 'Scrapblog' recently with the flat to renovate....I HATE woodchip wallpaper! Do you have that in the U.S.A.? It is awful to get off even with a brand new steamer!

  • HAWAIIGIRL Posted 205 days ago

I JUST LOVE THE NEW PAGES KAREN!

  • little_m Posted 204 days ago

It's a new month today.... I need to get busy with starting no. 4! :) See you all over there!

  • bygrace Posted 204 days ago

Awww I love magnolia's!!Wish this was smellblog!! The scent of a magnolia is heavenly! See you in May!! Shall we start with prom? :) Have a fun weekend! xoxo Gayle

  • AriesIsis Posted 204 days ago

    Love it:)

  • cazjane Posted 204 days ago

How's the packing going? You mentioned needing to stick down some wallpaper in your new house.....do you have a 'snagging'system with new builds in the U.S.A.? When we bought the show house in the Autumn we were asked to list anything we thought needed doing -paintwork,window catches, garden turf -anything and the developers gradually get round to fixing everything on the list. Of course, some of the jobs we could do ourselves but we still put it on the list!

Yes, 'woodchip' wallpaper does contain real chips of wood to give a texture. It was fashionable in the distant past but not now and is awful to scrape off even with a steamer. The place we are renovating was built in the early 1900's and has layer upon layer of wallpaper and paint! Thanks for the links -I'm going to take a look.

I'm sure your flower photos will make excellent framed prints ....a good idea!

Hello -I'm back again after looking at the 'woodchip' link! I'm putting that in my 'favourites' to spur me on because that family seem to be having more trouble than me with stripping woodchip! Mind you -they didn't even have a steamer,at first! Feel free to delete all this sideline chat about wallpaper....I'm a bit focused on woodchip at the moment!

Just back again (after eating some asparagus from our vegetable patch for our evening meal).Sorry to hear about your sinus problem.....I've never suffered from that-touch wood (or 'woodchip'!) Do you say 'touch wood' where you are? One says it to mean 'luckily', hoping it will remain that way! Anyway, I know that sinus problems can be very painful so I hope you feel O.K. now.
Have a great weekend -we have a Bank Holiday here in G.B. on Monday. However, we will still be renovating!
