THIS IS BEAUTIUFL, I REALLY LIKE PAGE 1. THE GREEN RIBBONS SETS THE RED OFF BEAUTIFULLY.
This is gorgeous, i love page 6!
Wow, I'm getting so I can actually pick out your scrapblogs before I even know they're yours now! You have such a distinct and beautiful style, Karen. Yet another beauty! :)
Wow you have really made a great scrapblog here!I love all of your scraps but this one of my favs! :)In my 7th grade art class we were making magnets and I actually picked the same picture you have on page 5 for the picture on my magnet! We drew it on a special piece of plastic and then shrunk it in a kiln and it then became a mini piece of art on a magnet! I didnt know who painted it before and now I do, how cool! :)really great job!
and thanks for 'loving' my 'matilda' scrapblog!
This is amazing. I really like how you cropped the dancers out and blew them as the backgrounds. I have always loved these paintings. Very interesting information too. Thanks for sharing.AnnemariePS - That zoo one I made way back in March I think. I have just made so many since then that it is hard to find.
Cool!Thanks!talk to you soon! :)
Very, Very pretty, Karen! I have always liked Degas' ballerina paintings and I love how you featured them here! I love the quotes you selected as well. The backgrounds and page compositions are so pretty! Really like your placement and use of the column stickers. Your cropping is so good!
Wow, this is beautiful- The colors and the paintings are so well put together, it is a feast for the eyes. I don't know how you do it. :) Truly wonderful.
Dance is art, and my daughter Irish dances, and she will surely enjoy viewing this scrapblog....don't you just love this place? What a wonderful thing for all of us who like to create - whether it's dance or just taking care of our kids - to be able to share with so many others our passions, is such an artful release. Your work is inspiring, and truly do not know how you have the time for all your scrapblogs! Blessings of peace.
This scrapblog is just beautiful. I love this type of thing too.
BEAUTIFUL! I love the impressionists too, Degas included! It will be hard to top this scrapblog!:-)
I'm catching up on all three of your latest scrapblogs, little_m and I have to 'love' this very elegant one, too. I've noticed you have used plenty of 'light effects' to good use in this! My attempts at ballet dancing were never as graceful as those depicted by Degas!
Oh, you've got my vote!
This is luscious and so fittingly 'in theme' with his time and art. And you just happened to pick one of my fav artists and mediums. :-) But then, hard to beat those wonderful impressionists. Beautiful little_m.
Good morning, little_m! Thanks for two long replies on my page! Your explanation of how and why you cropped the Degas dancers is very interesting and I'm going to take another more careful look at this album with that in mind!
......and as well as, of course, the 'repetition' aspect(cf. Degas' own words on your page 11) I think your cropping of the image and placing it outside of the painting of the same image gives your page a sense of real movement. Does all that make sense?
That last page has a great effect with the light streaming in. You really have outdone yourself on this one. Thanks for loving Cynthia's birthday card. I can't wait until she sees it.It is different than any other card I have done since the colors are so bright and vivid and kind of random. I don't think there was any rhyme or reason to it really, but it was fun.
Another masterpiece. Beautiful! Love it, cuz its about Degas...but also the layout is gorgeous! Thanks!
This blog just must be loved!
2 of 8 will be crazy for this--an absolutely stunning, gorgeous piece of art--incredible--Blessings!

Thanks for compliment! Actually I used more than just page 16 in my tutorial! I also used 6, 15, and 18! I used lots of light stickers throughout Painter of Dancers, so I thought these pages were perfect for my tutorial! :)Karen
